"Everlasting"~ Marriage Poster~ Marriage Quotes~ "Two Souls With But A Single Thought, Two Hearts That Beat As One"~ Rare Poster~ Approx 12" x 36" Review
Actually most of these quotations are either very familiar--or else are easily located in books of reference or online. Hint: two are by people whose last name is Browning. One quotation, however, is either absent from almost every reference book or is MISATTRIBUTED TO KEATS at a thousand websites:
"Two souls with but a single thought,
Two hearts that beat as one."
This is really the brainchild of 19th-cent. Austrian poet Friedrich Halm (pen name of Baron E.F.J. Munch-Bellinghausen--no joke) in his play DER SOHN DES WILDNIS (THE SON OF THE WILDERNESS), as translated into English by Maria White Lowell with the new title INGOMAR THE BARBARIAN. Somehow some fool attributed these words to the British poet John Keats, and a thousand other fools plagiarized the first fool--thus robbing both Baron Munch-Bellinghausen and Mrs. Lowell of credit due them.
"Go figure." --Lord Byron
"Live long & prosper." --Chaucer
