It bothers me that camera's owners manuals become less detailed, explain less and less how to use the functions of your camera, are written for English speakers by non-English speakers (some of the instructions cause you to shake your head and you can't even begin to guess what in heck they were talking about) and now you usually get a "quick start" guide with the rest of the owners manual on a CD, and again, it's usually not as complete as you'd like it to be.Get yourself a Magic Lantern guide for your specific model camera! It will tell you step-by-step in plain language what the controls of your camera do, and how to use them. If you've ever been frustrated because you looked at a button on your camera and said: "What's that, and what's it do?" then the Magic Lantern guides are what you need! I have them for each model of camera I own.
Even if the owners manual is fairly clear, the Magic Lantern guides usually expand on them and take the instructions even further.
